Liz has been with AHP since its inception in 2005 (as part of the Rural Health Initiative). Having completed her undergraduate studies in South Africa she now works in research in the public health sector, currently completing a doctorate at Oxford, UK. Passionate about healthcare in Africa and delighted to support serving doctors from the 'other side of the ocean', Liz is happy to assist in any way she can.

That’s what Therese tells doctors as she urges them to take their talents to Africa! As our US liaison, Therese helped launched AHP in North America in September 2008, after spending extended time in South Africa. Her job is to expand our programme's reach at several target conferences each year including the gatherings of the family physicians, pediatricians, emergency physicians, internists and the American Tropical School of Medicine & Hygiene. Therese’s responsibilities also entail recruitment strategic planning, and interfacing with medical schools/clinics/associations to build twinning projects linking American doctors with South Africa's rural hospitals. She lives in Seattle 'most' of the time.
Retha Grobbelaar

Retha is the new Media and Public Relations Officer at AHP. She is excited to be involved in spreading the news about AHP’s positive contribution to improving healthcare in Africa. She obtained her Honours degree in history at the University of the Witwatersrand. Prior to joining AHP she worked as a journalist for five years.
Jeannette Pritchard

Jeanette has the position of financial controller for the Rural Health Initiative. "The time I have spent working at the AHP office is truly a wonderful experience for me as the people surrounding me have given me a total feeling of peace. What makes my position worthwhile is being involved with such a challenging project."

Gail is a book keeper who has worked in the NGO sector for several years and is currently employed as a financial controller and administrator at AHP. She is responsible for the organisations' daily financial functions and officeadministration requirements.

Grizelda holds a diploma in travel and hospitality management, a certificate in project management, certificate in advanced events management as well as English business writing. "Being a part of this organisation is an overwhelming experience for me as I realise just how much there is to learn from all the intelligent environment that surrounds me. I hope to add to and make a difference with all the experience I have acquired over the past nine years."
Vusani Tshivhase

Vusani Tshivhase is the new District Practice Manager for Tshwane in Gauteng. She completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Georgia in the USA as a Fullbright Scholar. She joins us from Roswika Medical Supplies where she was director.

Michael Lombard is the IT support and is responsible for maintaining the office IT. Michael always emphasises his believe in good healthcare for everyone as he feels you need to be healthy to live your life to its fullest. He only recently started working for AHP and the difference it has made in his own life is already evident. It is in Michael's nature to help others, and to be a part of an organisation like this, is surely the best way to start.
Tsholofelo Tshoeu

Tsholofelo is an administrator at the DOH. She has over 4 years of administrative experience, having worked as a project coordinator and HR administrator in various roles. She has a certificate in Principles of HR Management, a Project Management Certificate, and a Personnel Management Diploma.
Mike Kumalo

Mike is AHP's HR administrator. Prior to this he was a foreign recruitment assistant where he facilitatied registration and placement of foreign healthcare professionals in southern Africa. Mike's experience in recruitment and HR in corporate environment has helped in developing his human resources and industrial skills that are essential for organisational success.
Jonathan Holborn
Eastern Cape district practice manager

Jonathan is qualified as a registered nurse at Frere Nursing College in 2001. He is also a traditional healer and dedicated to this calling. Has was previously employed at the UCT Lung Institute as provincial coordinator and master trainer of PALSA PLUS since 2009. He is a self-motivated professional with the energy to take on new challenges and adventures.
Geraldine Kasere

Geraldine serves as an addition to the AHP operations team. She studied law, and international studies at Rhodes University. She is involved with monitoring and evaluation as well as assisting with research work within the organisation.
